  • DSE students warned against giving false health data

The head of Hong Kong's examinations body warned on Thursday that any DSE candidates who give false information on their health declaration forms before sitting exams may have marks deducted from their final grades and could even be disqualified.

Dr So Kwok-sang said students need to accurately fill in the forms, including revealing any signs of respiratory tract infections and whether they are supposed to be undergoing compulsory quarantine.

If you are unwell, don't force yourself to take the exams, So urged students while taking part in RTHK’s Millennium programme.

The Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) head said exam admission tickets will be issued from Thursday. 

Regarding criticism that the move not to evaluate the sports ability of students was taken without consultation with experts, So said the HKEAA has reached a balanced decision on this.

So said sports assessments cannot be carried out with candidates wearing face masks and it is difficult to maintain the prescribed two-metre social distancing.

He said the body's decisions have been made following consultations with many experts.
