  • 'Drugs worth HK$25mn found in Mong Kok apartment'

Police said on Monday that they seized suspected cocaine and ice worth over HK$25 million from a Mong Kok flat after the arrest of a 36-year-old man in an anti-drug operation.

Senior inspector Tsang Tsz Yau said on Saturday they found the non-Chinese man acting suspiciously on Portland Street, and a search found three kilos of suspected cocaine in a paper bag he was carrying.

The police said they then issued a warrant to search a flat he led them to and found large amounts of suspected drugs stored in suitcases, along with some rubber bands and gloves.

"We found many suitcases inside the flat, and in them some 12.1kg suspected cocaine, 1.4kg suspected ice, and some powder for diluting drugs," said Tsang.
