Police say they have arrested a 24-year-old foreign domestic helper after officers found the body of a newborn baby boy in a plastic box in a flat in Shau Kei Wan.
Officers said they received a report on Tuesday night that the dead infant, still attached to its umbilical cord, was found in the box in a kitchen in the Tung Hei Court flat.
The suspect was sent to Eastern Hospital for medical checks.
The case has been classfied as one of concealing the birth of a child, and the cause of the boy's death has yet to be ascertained.
