A man has been taken to hospital after rescuers found him unconscious at a Sai Kung pool popular with divers.

Firefighters received a report around noon that the man and his female friend were missing at Four Pools after they had dived into the water.

They were among a group of five who were visiting the pool near Sheung Luk Stream which is surrounded by cliffs, attracting picnickers and diving enthusiasts.

Officers who reached the scene rescued the woman first and sent her to Eastern Hospital for treatment.

The man was found at around 3pm.
