Anthony Wu talks to RTHK's Candice Wong in Beijing

Vice-premier Han Zheng has urged CPPCC delegates from Hong Kong and Macau to make use of the opportunities that arise from the Greater Bay Area initiative.

Talking about Han's two-hour meeting with delegates from the two SARs, the chairwoman of the DAB and a delegate to the CPPCC, Starry Lee, said the top Beijing official made no reference to issues like calls for independence.

Han, who is Beijing’s top official in charge of the SAR’s affairs, was addressing the combined session of delegates from Hong Kong and Macau for the first time.

Another Hong Kong delegate, Anthony Wu, said the state leader underlined the security of the country during his talk.

Wu also told RTHK's Candice Wong that the vice-premier praised the governments of both SARs for their achievements on the economy and rule of law.
