The police are investigating a suspected animal cruelty case after the body of a decapitated wild boar was found in a stream near Wong Chuk Hang on Saturday morning.
A spokesman from the force said a man has been arrested in connection with the case.
The animal was about 1.5-metres-long. Officers also found a chopper at the scene.
The Hong Kong Wild Boar Concern Group, meanwhile, quoted the police as saying that the wild boar also had its stomach slashed and it looked as if it had been previously injured by an animal trap.
The group also said on its Facebook page that members of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals were also at the scene to assist the investigation.
