West Kowloon Magistracy said on Wednesday two former leaders of the now-disbanded Demosisto group, Joshua Wong and Ivan Lam, will go on trial in late November over a protest outside the police headquarters in Wan Chai in June last year.
The pair have denied inciting others to take part in an unauthorised assembly.
Their trial is due to start on November 23 and is expected to last six days.
Wong said before the court hearing that the prosecution is politically motivated and it won't stop him from continuing his activism.
The court said a third defendant, Agnes Chow also of the now-disbanded group, will be sentenced following Wong and Lam's trial.
She has pleaded guilty to inciting others to join the protest at the police headquarters and of taking part in it herself.
