The number of new Covid cases in Hong Kong has continued to edge down, with the authorities on Friday reporting 574 infections – around 50 fewer than the previous day.
Albert Au from the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) said he is happy to see the daily caseload shrink, but there could be a rebound now that social distancing measures have been relaxed.
Among the new cases, 11 were imported.
Au said around 20 students had been sent to the Penny's Bay quarantine centre to sit their university entrance exams, because they or their families are infected.
He added that there was another report of a Covid infection among the 300 schools that have resumed classes, but the pupil in question hadn't been to the school campus recently.
Officials also announced another 15 Covid-related deaths, taking the total number in the fifth wave to 9,014.
