The Chief Executive's Office on Monday announced the appointment of DAB member Clement Woo as the new undersecretary for constitutional and mainland affairs.

The position has been vacant since Andy Chan resigned in February citing health reasons.

Woo, 54, had served one term as a Tai Po district councillor, but was defeated in the 2019 polls.

He has an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Imperial College London, and a masters degree in public administration from Tsinghua University.

Woo will take up his new role on October 20.
