  • CTU marchers call for an end to long working hours

Hundreds of pro-democracy unionists on Tuesday staged a protest demanding laws on standard working hours, a universal pension scheme and collective bargaining.

They marched from Victoria Park to government headquarters.

The organiser, the Confederation of Trade Unions, accused the government of colluding with businesses. They said workers have had enough - because long working hours are keeping them from having a proper life.

The CTU's chairwoman, Carol Ng said the SAR government should follow Britain's lead and introduce a living wage.
