A 78-year-old woman has died in Hong Kong from Covid-19, raising the number of deaths linked to coronavirus to five.

Spokesman for the Prince of Wales Hospital said on Saturday that the patient was admitted on June 2 with symptoms including fever, shortness of breath and cough and her condition was stable.

But her condition deteriorated and she was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit on June 8.

Authorities also announced that one new imported case was confirmed, bringing the total tally of infection to 1,128.

The 40-year-old woman arrived from the Philippines on Friday, she’s now been hospitalised in Princess Margaret Hospital.
