Health authorities on Tuesday reported two more coronavirus cases with unknown sources amid warnings by experts about another possible Covid-19 wave in the city.

The Centre for Health Protection said eight new Covid-19 cases have been recorded, four of which were locally acquired.

One of the latest patients was a 68-year-old man who developed a fever on October 5 and saw a private doctor on two occasions before being admitted to Tseung Kwan O Hospital on Sunday. It remains unknown as to how he caught the virus.

One of his family members, a 32-year-old man, developed symptoms one day later and has also been confirmed with the virus.

Another case with an unknown source of infection is a 48-year-old man who developed a fever on Saturday.

He sought treatment at United Christian Hospital the next day. He last went to work at CityPlaza One in Tai Koo on Friday.

Four imported cases involved people who flew in from France, Germany, the Philippines and India.

Hong Kong has so far reported 5,201 coronavirus cases, with 105 deaths.
