About a dozen district councillors and campaigners have presented a petition to the government asking it to ensure the Shatin-to-Central link serves as many stations as possible when it partially opens later this year.

Their protest follows media reports that the new Kai Tak and Sung Wong Toi stations will not be served when the MTR begins running services.

The line has been beset by construction scandals.

The convenor of the Shatin-to-Central Link Concern Group, Cheung King-fan, says transport services are currently strained in the area.

"In my district, we just only have two CityBuses," he said. "These two buses are covering some of the district."

Cheung said residents need the MTR stations to be opened and they want clear information from the MTR.
