The government on Saturday morning issued a compulsory testing notice ordering people who have visited 16 specified premises to get tested for Covid-19.
"In view of a number of cases tested preliminarily positive/positive, 16 specified places are included in the compulsory testing notice," health officials said in a statement.
They urged members of the public to get tested on time, adding that officials will also visit the affected premises to notify residents.
Officials pointed out that the compulsory testing also applies to people who are fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the Government said it is striving to ramp up its testing capacity, but noted the demand for testing continues to outstrip supply.
It said it has reviewed and adjusted the criteria for choosing which buildings will be put under the compulsory testing notice, so that groups with higher infection risks will be able to gain better access to testing resources.
It added only buildings with confirmed cases detected in at least two units within a short period of time would be put under the compulsory testing notice.
