The government on Saturday issued a notice for taxi drivers, who plan to work between Christmas and January 23, to take compulsory coronavirus tests.
The Transport Department said it would launch the two-week free testing scheme for these drivers from December 9.
Drivers, who take a test at one of 13 dedicated centres set up by the department, will receive an SMS message as proof, as well as a "Compulsory Testing Tag" for them to display.
The government warned that there will be a HK$5,000 fine for anyone who fails to comply with the compulsory testing notice.
