Education minister Kevin Yeung said on Sunday that his bureau is planning to publish details of selected investigations stemming from complaints against teachers to let people know what is allowed, and what's not.

With a furore over the striking off of a teacher deemed to have used pro-independence materials to instruct fifth-graders still swirling, Yeung said the government wants to introduce more transparency over complaint cases.

This, he said, would help the general public and educators get a better understanding of the government's position and standards.

As such, he said officials plan to publish online results of special complaint cases.

He told a TVB programme officials are still looking into more than 40 such cases against teachers.

Yeung added that if officials investigating such complaints believe the national security law has been breached, they will inform the police while continuing their own probe.

However, he said a formal notification mechanism hasn't been established yet.
