Customs officers on Sunday arrested a man at the airport after finding about 8 kilogrammes of cocaine hidden in the man's luggage.
The haul is estimated to be worth nearly HK$10mn.
Officials said the 24-year-old man had arrived in the city from Sao Paulo, via Dubai, and the cocaine was concealed in false compartments in his two suitcases.
He has been charged with trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear at West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
