Health authorities on Monday reported 233 new Covid cases – 33 of which were imported.
Officials said 120 cases were confirmed by PCR tests and 113 were reported by people who administered self-tests.
A cluster of infections linked to the Peony Golden Court restaurant in Yuen Long grew to 12 after a cook there tested positive for the virus through a rapid antigen test.
The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) said it's not ruling out more cases connected to the restaurant.
Officials said the cook, who's triple jabbed, last worked on May 5 and developed symptoms three days later.
The CHP's Chuang Shuk-kwan said since the cook had been involved in activities elsewhere in the community since he last went to work, officials would also investigate if he caught the virus elsewhere.
She said of the 192 diners who had been ordered to undergo testing, 138 had tested negative, while a handful of the restaurant's staff were still awaiting results.
The Hospital Authority, meanwhile, said a Covid patient, 89, died in the past day. She was not vaccinated.
