Christine Fong talks to RTHK's Janice Hui

District councillor Christine Fong, who came in third in the New Territories East by-election on Sunday, says she's thinking about setting up her own political party, or cooperating with other political parties in the near future.

Fong, who has run and lost in five elections for a Legco seat, said the lack of support or networking an organised political party provides has made her campaign work more difficult.

"I do have strong support of Hong Kong people. But running in an election based on local community issues is not easy ... without financial support," she said.

Fong said she hasn't made any decision about starting her own party, but said she was holding detailed discussions on the idea.

She told RTHK's Janice Hui that she thinks existing political parties may also approach her.
