  • CHP reports 1,076 new local Covid cases

The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) on Tuesday reported 1,076 new local Covid infections, along with 122 imported cases.

Officials said 144 schools had 177 infections between them, involving 143 students and 34 teachers.

Two secondary schools have been told to suspend classes for a week after outbreaks were detected.

A total of four cases were found at class 2C of FDBWA Szeto Ho Secondary School in Kwun Tong, while 10 students and a teacher who took part in basketball and boxing activities at St. Francis Xavier's School Tsuen Wan have come down with the disease.

No further deaths were reported.
