  • Carrie Lam needs to act on her words: Felix Chung

Liberal Party leader Felix Chung has called on Chief Executive Carrie Lam to act on her recent words over the extradition bill controversy.

Speaking on an RTHK programme, Chung noted that Lam had said that she would change her governance style, and listen more to the public, particularly young people, when framing policy.

In view of the extradition bill debacle, she also pledged a more open and inclusive government that was more in tune with public sentiment

But Chung said the Chief Executive hasn't really taken any action.

“She’s been saying a lot of things but hasn’t started any action yet. Society really needs her to do something, not just saying she would improve this and improve that. So far we haven’t seen that. So I urge her to start that as soon as possible,” he said.

Chung told RTHK's Janice Wong that he expects the Legislative Council to resume normal operations only in six months' time.
