A private car on Tuesday lost control and crashed near the entrance of the Tai Lam Tunnel, before catching fire. The driver, who had been trapped inside, was sent to Yan Chai Hospital, after being rescued by firefighters.

The incident happened at about 10 pm near the northbound tunnel entrance, which heads towards Yuen Long.

The Transport Department said the northbound tunnel had been closed to traffic with a two-way traffic arrangement put in place in the southbound tunnel.
