Police on Wednesday said that two teenagers arrested over suspected vandalism involving a railway power cable in Tai Po are still being held in detention.

The 14-year-old local boy and a 18-year-old British man were detained on Tuesday night.

Investigators said the 17-metre long metal handrail which was used in the incident appeared to have been pulled off a footbridge.

The incident disrupted early morning services on the East Rail Line for around an hour on Sunday.
