A 40-year-old police sergeant who's charged with assaulting a female officer at a restaurant has made an appearance in Tuen Mun Court.
No plea was entered, and the case was adjourned to July 22. The defendant was released on bail.
The alleged incident happened in April, when the government’s ban on public gatherings of more than four people was in effect.
A group of off-duty police officers were having a late night meal in Yuen Long at that time.
The female officer was said to have been hit with a glass bottle.
The gathering limit was imposed in late March, aimed at reducing the number of local infections of Covid-19.
