The Hospital Authority (HA) on Saturday expressed concern over a group of armed riot policemen entering the Tuen Mun Hospital overnight.
The authority said it has contacted the police through the established communication mechanism.
Media footage had shown a group of riot police officers inside the hospital with shields, batons and helmets.
The HA replied that it was aware of the police's operational needs. However, it also learned that some staff and patients were worried that the police action might affect the operation of the hospital and the patient's services.
It added that it hopes the hospital will be able to provide services without affecting the police's actions.
A teen who was shot by an off-duty police officer during a clash in Tuen Mun overnight was moved to the hospital for a surgery. It was not known if the police visit was related to that.
At a press briefing held at 3am on Saturday, Senior Superintendent of the Police Public Relations Division Yolanda Yu had said that she was very concerned about the wounded person's injury and safety.
She said because the injured person had gone in for a surgery, they were not been able to contact him, and it was not clear about his role in the incident.
