Apple Daily says one of its off-duty journalists, and her sister, have been assaulted during a family dinner in a restaurant in Kwun Tong.

Police say two women have been allegedly assaulted by several men, suffering injuries to their hands and faces. They were sent to hospital.

According to Apple Daily, the pair were attacked by four men wearing yellow helmets and masks.

The newspaper said she and her sister were both wounded and the attackers had verbally warned them before leaving.

Apple Daily has condemned the alleged attack.
