In Sunday's other major anti-extradition rally in Hong Kong, people gathered at Belcher Bay Park in Western.

A crowd of young and old packed out an auditorium at the park, and spilled onto a nearby grass lawn and the surrounding paths.

Our reporter at the scene said thousands of people were there.

Those who gathered there say it’s important to keep putting pressure on the government and to restate their five demands, including the complete withdrawal of the extradition bill and the launch of an independent inquiry into the whole saga.

Mr Pong, a nearby resident, was at the rally.

"We have been voicing very loudly for certain weeks, but they didn't show any response to our requests. I think it's very important to keep pressing the government," he said.
