A 94-year-old man became on Sunday Hong Kong's latest Covid-19 fatality.

Queen Mary Hospital announced the patient passed away at noon.

The man, who had suffered chronic diseases, was admitted on July 14 due to coronavirus, cough and runny nose. His condition then deteriorated before he died on Sunday.

He had been a resident of Choi Hung Estate, where an outbreak was reported during this third wave of infections.

The hospital said it would offer necessary assistance to his family.

Hong Kong has now recorded 34 Covid-19 deaths. Most involved elderly patients.
