Health officials on Saturday found almost a thousand preliminary positive Covid cases during overnight lockdowns of six buildings in Tuen Mun, Tsing Yi, Kwun Tong, Sham Shui Po, Ho Man Tin and Wong Tai Sin.
The blocks were cordoned off on Friday after sewage samples there tested positive for Covid.
Around 3,400 residents of Oi Chi House of Yau Oi Estate and Hang Lai House at Cheung Hang Estate were tested overnight.
On the Kowloon side, officials tested about 4,600 residents from Chun Tat House at On Tat Estate, Fook Yuet House in Fortune Estate, Tun Man House at Oi Man Estate and On Tung House of Tung Tau (II) Estate.
There were a total of 992 suspected infections and 135 indeterminate cases.
Authorities added that people who spent time at these buildings for more than two hours from February 26 to March 11 also have to undergo compulsory testing on or before Sunday.
