All Schools To Remain Closed Until Monday

The Education Bureau announced on Thursday that the territory's schools will remain closed until Monday, given the ongoing unrest.
In a statement, authorities said because traffic disruptions and road blockages are continuing and widespread, classes at all kindergartens, primary, secondary and special schools will continue to be suspended from Friday to Sunday.
The bureau, however, stressed that school campuses must remain open in case some children have nowhere else to go.
Officials added that they strongly condemn any acts of violence, saying it is important to restore social order so that students can return to school safely. They urged students not to take part in any illegal activities.
All kindergartens, primary and secondary schools were also closed on Thursday, with the government coming under fire for not shutting them sooner given the serious disruption to traffic this week.
Lectures at several universities have also been cancelled due to the growing turmoil.
