For a second day in a row, hundreds of protesters clad in black filled the airport’s arrival hall on Saturday afternoon for a sit-in protest against the government’s extradition bill.
They chanted slogans and put up a temporary “Lennon wall” made of cardboard for people to stick colourful memos on them.
Protesters also left leaflets on the floor to explain to visitors arriving in the SAR the extradition bill controversy, demands for universal suffrage, and claims of police brutality.
A three-day sit-in has been planned at the airport.
Extra security measures had been put in place, but only at the departure hall, with those flying out of Chek Lap Kok warned to expect to have show their tickets and passports twice before being allowed to get to the departure desks.
