A few members of the League of Social Democrats on Thursday night staged a protest outside Beijing's liaison office, urging the central government to release all political prisoners and withdraw the national security law for Hong Kong.

The group had demonstrated outside the office in Western after the candlelit vigil in Victoria Park ended.

The protesters, led by the league’s leader Leung Kwok-hung, chanted slogans such as “end of one party rule”, “people will not forget” and “scrap the national security law” outside the barricaded office.

They also held a moment of silence to mourn the victims of the June 4 massacre.

Speaking to reporters, Leung said apart from remembering the Tiananmen Square victims, people in Hong Kong should also join forces to oppose the national security law.

He also slammed the director of Liasion Office, Luo Huoning, for failing to listen to Hong Kong people’s views.
