Katty Law talks to RTHK's Joanne Wong

Conservationists have accused the URA of secretly planning to demolish several historically valuable tenements in Central.

They said they have come across a site plan which shows the buildings in Wa In Fong West are to be pulled down, even though no such plan has been vetted by the district council.

Activists held a protest outside the URA's office in Central against the 'demolition' plan.

Katty Law from the Central and Western Concern Group said she saw a site plan with a contractor who was at the site. "I was really shocked because so far we had not heard anything from URA. And the URA has been saying nothing to the district council," she said.

Law told RTHK's Joanne Wong that they are also asking the Chief Executive, Carrie Lam, to intervene in the issue.

But the URA rejected the charges and said the person Law came across was a consultant who was just checking the buildings for safety hazards.
