RTHK has learnt that pro-establishment activist Leticia Lee passed away on Wednesday, and she tested preliminary positive for Covid-19 after her death.
Reports said the 56-year-old was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital in Yuen Long after fainting at home, and was soon declared dead.
Pro-establishment lawmaker Priscilla Leung confirmed Lee's death, calling her a close friend and a talented and courageous individual.
Lee’s Facebook page, which has more than 10,000 followers, was last active on Saturday, with a post mocking ousted lawmaker Sixtus Leung who recently fled to the United States.
The activist, who founded the pro-establishment group Justice Alliance, had often appeared in demonstrations in support of the government and the police.
She made a bid for public office when she contested for a New Territories East seat in the Legislative Council elections in 2016. She failed to make the cut.
