West Kowloon Court on Tuesday denied bail to former June Fourth vigil organiser Chow Hang-tung, who is charged with inciting subversion of state power.

The vice-chairwoman of the now-disbanded Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China is charged along with the alliance’s two former leaders, Lee Cheuk-yan and Albert Ho, as well as the alliance itself.

Representing herself in court, Chow applied for bail and the court’s approval to lift media-reporting restrictions.

But principal magistrate Peter Law rejected both requests, ruling that there was no substantial change in circumstances that warranted Chow's release and that reporting restrictions for bail proceedings prevail for "judicial interests".

Chow has repeatedly been denied bail since she was prosecuted for inciting subversion in September.
