The police on Sunday said about 120 police officers may need to go into quarantine. This comes after a 46-year-old policeman, attached to the West Kowloon region, was confirmed as having Covid-19.

In a Chinese language statement, the force said it understood that the officer had used facilities at the Kowloon West Operational Base in Shek Kip Mei, including changing rooms and toilets. It said, in accordance with instructions issued by the Department of Health, about 120 police officers who had used the facilities may need to go to a quarantine centre.

The police said they were cooperating with arrangements made by the Department of Health.

The force said the police station's facilities, as well as the police quarters, had been cleaned and disinfected. It said emergency services would not be affected.
