Police said a 55-year-old woman has been charged with one count of murder and will appear in Kwun Tong Magistrates'' Court for mention on Tuesday.

Police said they found her 23-year-old son lying on a sofa in the Shin Ming Estate flat in Tseung Kwan O on Saturday night.

They said he showed signs of having been strangled, and is believed to have been dead for one to two days.

Rat poison, sleeping pills and a suicide note by the mother were also found in the flat.
