The government said on Wednesday that 27 Hong Kong residents will join a charter flight from Morocco to the mainland arranged by the Chinese embassy.
A government spokesman said the charter flight is scheduled to leave Casablanca at 4pm on Thursday local time (11pm HKT) and will fly to Guangzhou, with passengers paying the cost of the flight.
The spokesman said immigration officials have received requests for help from 158 Hong Kong residents, who have been stranded in Morocco since early last month after a state of emergency was declared, but 113 have already returned to the HKSAR.
The spokesman said that only 27 of the remaining 45 Hong Kong people left in Morocco will take the charter flight on Thursday.
All those flown back will have to undergo 14 days quarantine.
