Police said late on Wednesday that they've arrested a 31-year-old man surnamed Poon on suspicion of storming the Legislative Council on Monday night and also of taking part in a protest at the police headquarters in Wanchai nearly two weeks ago.

Poon, who's said to have been an activist since the Occupy Movement in 2014, is accused of forcible entry into Legco, misconduct in public, criminal damage and assaulting police.

He was arrested by anti-triad officers in Mong Kok on Wednesday morning.

Police also arrested another 12 people in connection with clashes in Wanchai and Tamar on Monday morning - 11 men and one woman aged between 14 and 36.
